Modern & Punchy

Arkhitektons wanted a brand design that was simple, modern, and punchy. I began playing with the shape of the ‘A’ early in the design process and came up with multiple designs that reflected the aspect of architecture and building structures.

The logo in its final form uses a dynamic icon which symbolizes a two-panel structure viewed from an angle, and also uses negative space to create the shape of a stylized ‘A’ flipped on its side.

The icon is paired with a condensed font, Antonio Regular, which mimics the height of the tall rectangular image. The warm tones of orange and yellow create a pleasing contrast to the cool hues of the teal and navy blue while delivering on the need for “punch” in the colours. A secondary font, Intro Book Caps, was chosen to add further contrast with it’s wider stance and easier legibility at smaller sizes.
