Logo design for automotive brand development
Mud & Movement

Revolve Offroad is an automotive retailer that specialized in the sale of tires, rims and aftermarket accessories, often aimed towards the off-road community, operating in Northern British Columbia. Before the logo design process began, I helped the client come up with a name. With tires and rims being the main product, ‘Revolve’ made a lot of sense. The logo design needed to evoke the same movement that the name suggested, with a little mud added for good measure. Once I completed the logo design, the client also required business cards, vehicle decals, and social media graphics.

With orange and black being the only hues, the colour scheme is simple. We bounced between orange and green (as seen below), we ended up with orange due to its bright contrast with the black.

Further contrast was added to the logo with the extreme differing styles of the typefaces. This was achieved by using a sans-serif display font, and a script font ultra-stylized to mimic a thick paintbrush, or in this case, tire tracks in the mud.

Logo Design Process

The original presentation to the client consisted of three logo concepts. Ultimately the design that would eventually become the final logo was set in stone after the initial presentation. Once chosen, I provided multiple potential solutions of different “hubcaps” for the centre of the spinning ‘O”. This element started off as very stylized and ended with the appearance more reminiscent of a real wheel.
